Questions for people of color?

1.How do you feel about the state of america towards black now obama
is president?

Obama don't get in the white house until late January so everything
is still too early for there to be drastic change on how blacks are
viewed. All them white people voting for Obama does say America was
ready for change and saw past color to picc the person best for our
country and most qualified.

2. Do you think people will change or stay the same in america now
our president is black?

I think Obama being president will help blacc people long term. It is
a great stepping stone and great example to empower the youth and let
them know they really can achieve anything. However, peoples views
overall won't change 100 percent, sterotypes will remain, racism will
remain because its been embedded throughout history.

A black president doesn't mean the hood isn't gonna be the hood, or
poverty won't exist for blacks and as long as you have those elements
America will have there fears and thoughts.

3. Do you think the people who run the country will adopt obamas
priniciples to enforce change?

Yeah, I think America as a whole wants change. People fear
depression, recession, foreclosures, unemployment, they don't only
effect blaccs, they effect everyone and white america.

And I think Obama is a good enough leader to picc the right team to
go in and jointly make these changes over time.

4. Do you think its harder now for people of color in entertainment
industry to be accepted or its harder?

It depends on the role, as artists, actors, entertainers people of
color are excepted. I hear in Hollywood its still hard for blacks,
hispanics, etc too get roles or we are type cast a lot, but in music
as artists we are excepted. I think the hip hop culture being so
dominant has helped that.

But on the exectutive end and business end we still have a way to go.
There are a lot of people running these companies that don't come
from Hip Hop or understand hip hop and that hurts the quality of
music and effectiveness of the product.

5. How do you feel about people of color mainly blacks being trapped
in entertainment and menial jobs?

We not trapped into any jobs, there are great blacc doctors, lawyers,
teachers, engineers, and any other career we want to name. The
career paths that are glorified may be the sports and entertainment
careers. The key is for us to focus and prepare our children to get
any job they want. Educate ourselves on what steps are needed too
qualify for these careers and pursue them. Every person has to do
there part in making change.

6. Do you think african americans will get forty acres and mule now
obama is president?

Nah, we won't get anything but an opportunity to go out and make
whatever we want out of our lives. We as men and women have to make
due for ourselves.
7. Do you think race relations in america will change or become worse?

I think it will gradually increase over time, as new strides and
barriors get crossed and as these kids get older. If we can keep hip
hop strong that will help, its really cool to be blacc and hip at the
end of the day. And with all the interacial and mixed race kids
being born it has no choice but to get better. The melting pot
theory is how I look at it.
8.What do you think is the best way to stop
crime,poverty,homesless,incarceration,unemployment,Non-Healthcare,Disease in
our communities?

We have to fix the communities, better parenting is where it starts.
Be role models for your children, teach through your actions, empower
your children. Education will always be a factor and we have to help
kids understand athletics and rapping not the only good careers.
That balance would help make change in our communities gradually.
The more people working, going to school, doing something
constructive with there time means more jobs, less crime, etc....

9.If you could change anything about the world what would you change and why?

I would like too change a lot of things about the world, would like
for it too be a healthier world, would like too curve the senseless
violence in our communities, and I could go on forever. That's not
realistic so I would rather tell people to keep all the negative
people out there life, all the non believers, and just strive for
whatever you feel is right for you in your heart. The key is too be
yourself, be true to yourself and be solid men and women.

10.Would you rather be rich famous and hated or poor broke happy and loved?

I would rather be happy at the end of the day. Money don't make
people happy, a lot of people are rich and still unhappy. I know
people who are rich and still insecure, selfish, and greedy.
That's not happiness.

I choose to be Rich and happy ultimately. I will be happy rich
because I know who I am and I am not here to be anybody but Roccett,
that's important.
